I wanted to do a budget beauty post just to mention a few products that I think are amazing, totally worth the money and that I would recommend to anyone, I chose 20 items that are all £20 or less, so here they are.
Firstly for skincare (baring in mind my skin type is oily combination and blemish prone)
1. The Avene Thermal Spring Water (from £3) I think this stuff is a god send, I use this first thing when I wake up and as a refresh throughout the day when I feel cakey, it's really hydrating and much cheaper than some of the other options.
2. The Rimmel Stay Matte Primer (around £6) I love this primer it really does what it says on the tin, I think it's my favourite high street one so far although this is for oily skin there are also some great luminising ones out there too by Max Factor and L'oreal for example.
3. La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo + (around £16) I think this works miracles for blemishes and scarring, it's incredibly soft of the skin and doesn't dry it out at all, I don't quite know the science of it but I know it works.
4. The Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream by the Body Shop (£10) I love this, it smells and feels so refreshing, it's more of a gel cream not greasy at all, you only need a small bit and you are instantly oil free without any drying of the skin.
For foundation and base
5. The Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation (around £8) is so great for even medium coverage and getting that nice healthy glow, it's an Olay but a goody and I always like this best in the summer time.
6. Vichy Dermablend (around £15) this is slightly more expensive but I like to spend the majority of my money on the base, this is truly worth the money because you really only need a tiny blob, it's so pigmented, this is great for acne sufferers or people like me with constant break outs, I often use this as a concealer on top of a lighter foundation because I find it looks so natural.
7. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (£4.99) these concealers are so amazing for the price, very similar to the Nars radiant creamy concealer, they come in loads of different shades, they are really creamy and easy to blend with great coverage.
8. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (£15) I know this is more considered high end but it is still under £20 and absolutely amazing, this is one of my favourite concealers of all time, it is so weightless and thin in consistency but the coverage is full and brilliant, again the shade range is huge which is also a plus.
9. Bourjois Bronzing Primer (£9.99) I actually use this over my make up but I suppose either is good, it is so fluffy and light, it's a perfect matte so no nasty glow over here, it's just perfect when you haven't had time to fake tan or you are looking extra pasty.
For the rest of the face
10. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (£3.99) of course I had to put this in, it's so great for the price, it does exactly what it claims to, it's not heavy or cakey at all and because its translucent you can use it with pretty much any foundation or concealer.
11. Soap & Glory One Heck Of a Blot (£12) this is the slightly more pricey version but I still do recommend it, I like this one because it is in a handily little compact with a mirror and is great to shove in my bag, it is super finely milled and goes on the skin like velvet with no cake.
12. Topshop Blush (around £7) I think these are my favourite from the high street, I love the cream to powder finishes best but the powders are great too, highly pigmented and don't feel heavy on the skin.
13. L'oreal Lumi Magique (around £8) this is a great highlighting concealer, it can be used under eyes as a cheaper version of the YSL Touché Éclat or around the face as a highlight, it's not highly reflective so it lovely for daytime subtlety.
14. Benefit High Beam (around £19) this is my favourite highlighter of all time, ever! It gives a natural sheen, not glitter or shimmer in sight, the small bottle lasts forever (I mean serious forever) and you can use it everywhere, under foundation, over it, mixed in with it, for eyes, nose, cheekbones, it's amazing.
For lips and eyes
15. MUA lipsticks (£1) I couldn't leave these out for £1 they are friggin amazing, they are very pigmented, moisturising and creamy, they don't last that long on but they are great for trying out shades before you spend the big bucks on a high end one.
16. MAC lipsticks (£15) these are in my opinion the best lipsticks to go for, there are so many different finishes and shades there is bound to be the one that you are looking for, they smell lovely and they are super moisturising (even the Matte finish).
17. NYX Butter Glosses (£5) these are a new addiction of mine and they have quickly become a forever favourite, they are just so great for the price, they have a wide colour selection, they smell like vanilla, they are super nourishing on the lips, non sticky and highly pigmented.
18. L'oreal Mega Volume Miss Manga mascara (around £8) now this doesn't do what it says on the tin, I don't think it is mega volume, but it is because of that that I like it, it's a lovely daytime mascara for a natural look, separates the lashes nicely and holds a pretty curl, it also has a tapered wand so it's great for the inner and outer corners.
19. Rimmel Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara (around £7) this is the complete opposite and is amazing at building up huge Volumising, full thick lashes, it separates the lashes nicely and builds them up without clumping with its huge wand.
20. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (£20) I had to put is in here because it is my go to palette which I use every day, it's a perfect starter kit which is what I got it for and now I'm obsessed, they are all matte shades which are more natural looking and easy to blend and there is one shimmer shade for highlighting. The shades all work really well with each other so it's so easy to make lots of different looks.
Hope you enjoyed this post.
