Bodyshop Haul

As I said in my previous posts I've recently been stocking up on Bodyshop products, some old favourites and some newbies. It's mainly skincare as my skin has been bad lately and I decided I need to start making more of an effort with my skincare routine (which I am doing really well with).

The Bodyshop had an offer on last week where everything was 50% off, so I made my first order and decided I should get more so I made a second order and that still wasn't enough so I made a third and final order ( the postage is free over £5 by the way), so now that I have everything here I can finally share this post. Some of it I have already talked about as I have already started using the products.

I will talk about my favourite first, the Vitamin E Face Mist (rrp £8, offer £4), I ordered one of these but when it came I knew I was in love so I ordered two more. Some sprays can make your face feel really stiff but this stuff is gorgeous, I love it and its pretty affordable I'd say. I used it everyday morning and night, it smells really fresh and just makes my face feel smooth and plump.

Next the Vitamin E Cream Cleanser (rrp £8, offer £4), I also love this as it is so creamy that you really don't have to use a lot at all, again it's smells really clean and just kind of wakes my skin up a bit.

I got a couple of the sachets to test out some of the products before investing in the full sized versions, so I got the Vitamin C Microdermabrasion Exfoliator (sachet rrp £1.50, offer 75p, full sized product £13) and I truly do love this and am planning to invest in the full size one, the beads are a perfect size so it's not too harsh but still does the job and it's pretty moisturising too. I also ordered the Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Mask (sachet rrp £1.50, offer 75p, full sized product £12) which I do like but I seem to wake up very oily after using it, so maybe it's not for me.

I also got this Vitamin E Moisture Cream (rrp £10), which I didn't actually order as I'm not really a fan of cream moisturisers for my face, it came as a free gift with my final order, so since it was free I will be testing it out of course :)

An old faithful that I haven't bought for ages, the Tea Tree Oil (rrp £7, offer £3.50), which I have been using daily since I received it and love it as much as ever. I have been using a lot of hydrating products alongside it so as not to dry my skin out too much.

I had to get me some of this, it's the limited edition Vanilla Bliss Christmas collection, I got the Shower Gel (rrp £4, offer £2) and the Hand Cream (rrp £4, offer £2), I loveeeee the smell, these two items are sold out now but the rest of the collection has gone into sale online if you are interested, I'm hoping to grab one of the body butters before they sell out too, they're down to £5!!!

New miniature obsession, pink grapefruit stuff! I got the Hand Cleanse Gel (rrp £2.50, offer £1.25) essentially a hand sanitizer, but it smells so gorgeous and stays on your hands for ages you really do feel so clean when you use it, and I went for one of the lip butters because I had never had one (rrp £4, offer £2) and this one is lovely, definitely a good choice.

And lastly, the Concealer Pencil in shade 01 (rrp £9, offer £4.50), which I used a long time ago and actually LOVED it, I thought it had been discontinued so when I spotted it I got so excited, I'm so happy it's back in my life. It's a chunky pencil, very creamy consistency and very easy to blend, at the moment I'm using it for my dark circles, but its very full coverage I would say so I think it would work for everything.

And that's all folks!!!!

All of this would have cost me a total of £78.50, but thanks to the offer I got it all for a wonderful £34.25, there are constant offers on the Bodyshop website so definitely check it out.

Skincare routine

beauty

Ok, recently I have been buying a lot of new things for myself (really naughtily since its so close to Christmas and my birthday), mainly beauty and skincare/ bath stuff. My skin has been particularly bad for the last few months so I decided its time for some new products and a new routine :)

There has been some great offers on www.bodyshop.co.uk over the past few week so I have done an unusual amount of shopping there (I will do a proper haul once my final package arrives) I have got so many bargains and grabbed a few things I have been wanting to try so I am really excited.

I mainly used wipes to remove my make up (and my Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit face wash when I'm in the bath) but they're not really great, I think they're alright for quick fixes like getting in late at night and for a refresh first thing in the morning (I never wash my face with water in the mornings, I find it makes my face really stiff and I prefer to just use a cleansing wipe instead) but generally I know I should be using something better than just wipes for my skin so the first thing I added to the shopping basket was the Vitamin E Cream Cleanser (£8) because I love the smell of their Vitamin E products and even though I have combination skin and do get oily I still love moisturising products. It's great not too thick, you don't need a lot and after 2 cotton balls I'm free of all make up.

Secondly I added the Vitamin E Face Mist (£8) because I am not a great fan of cream moisturisers for the face, even though they feel and smell gorgeous, I always feel like I've just spent ten minutes cleansing and toning my skin to unclog it from all the products only to clog it up with another one, so I chose this one, there is also a Vitamin C Face Mist (£9) which I am really interested in but I went for E because of the moisture factor. I have used MAC Fix+ (£15) for years and it was much cheaper when I started using it, around £11 so I didn't used to mind so much, but considering that I don't even use it to fix/set my make up, as intended, and only use it for refreshing my skin and at night as a quick moisturiser before bed I figured I'm spending way too much, almost double the price for the same quantity, I am loving this one and think this will definitely be my new staple. It smells lovely and doesn't leave that stiff skin feeling where you feel like you can't smile without cracking.

Thirdly I am really loving the sound of some of the masques and exfoliators in Bodyshop. They are a bit pricey to just grab as a test but now they do little sachets (£1.50) so I got one Vitamin C Exfoliator and one Vitamin E moisture masque, I have tried them both (I got enough in the sachet for two goes so I was very happy) and I really love the Exfoliator it's really fresh and the beads aren't too big so you don't feel like you're ripping your skin, I think I'm going to invest in the full sized one. As for the moisture masque I do like it and it did work, (you put it on clean skin, leave for 10 minutes and then just wipe it off with cotton wool) my skin felt smooth and soft after, the only thing I found was when I woke up in the morning I was so oily all over my face, so I'm going to have to test that one again before I commit to the big pot.

I also grabbed a little bottle of pure Tea Tree Oil for my problem areas because I used to use it a lot but haven't used it in years and I know it works so :) it also goes hand in hand with my new toner (I have already posted about this sorry) the Tea Tree Water from LUSH (www.lush.co.uk £7.50 for 250g) which I LOVE it's so fresh so clean, but literally though, it's lovely I cannot recommend it enough, it doesn't smell strongly of tea tree either which is great, it's just really mild and makes your skin feel like it really has had a good clean. I use it as a toner which I then wipe off but have also been using it at night before bed.

I have had my Pore Minimiser from Clinique (www.boots.com) for ages but haven't really utilised it so I've been trying to get some use out of old forgotten products and this is one, its not really 'skincare' but I use it just after, before I put my foundation on (they say you can use it over as well but I find that makes my make up go blotchy and then just sit inside my pores, so I recommend under) it's actually really good, I don't remember the price but I think around the £15 mark so not bad because you really don't use a lot at all. It also comes in different shades because its ever so slightly tinted, it's like a thick sort of mousse consistency.

Lastly my lip regime, I recently invested in the famous Lanolips 101 Ointment (£10.50 www.boots.com) which I have to agree is really great, I have used it three times so far and can safely and honestly say I can feel the difference the whole day after (I have used it at night) so I would say its worth the money, a little goes a really long way as it is very thick. I have also pulled out an old classic just recently since it is winter and all, the Bubblegum Lip Scrub by LUSH (www.lush.co.uk Around £5) again an amazing product, actually edible too, and smells delicious, they do a whole range of flavours, I'm just a really pink girl and a sweet smell lover. Definitely worth the money it lasts ages.

I thought I'd add in a photo of my new £1.99 bargain pot that I recently posted about in action in its new home since its job is to hold everything I need for my skincare routine (cotton wool balls, cotton buds and cotton beauty buds all from Boots).

Just LUSH

acne

It seems that I am obsessed with LUSH this year, I have always liked it but I don't think I have ever bought this much in one year, maybe I am getting an addiction? :/

I have asked for a LUSH voucher for Christmas and I am hoping I get one because I have already planned my Boxing Day sales run (which literally just includes LUSH, Boots and Cath Kidston, well and possibly Zara for the bags :)) I'm hoping to grab some Snow Fairy on sale so I can stock up, and then there are a few bits I still haven't tried yet like the 'Fun' that I put on my wanted list and their new Rosé Jam shower gel which is really expensive but I think I'll take the plunge. Excited.

So anyway enough blabbering, the point of the post is to show you what I picked up yesterday in LUSH. I did go in on purpose, it was on my list and it wasn't just impulse buying, so I had two main things on my list 'Snow Fairy' and the 'Tea Tree Water' spray, I decided to get the huge Snow Fairy, it's my first time buying it so I was going to be reasonable and pick the 250g bottle but the bigger one was such better value, and it was the last one left so I took it as a sign (Snow Fairy 500g £10.95, www.lush.co.uk). The Tea Tree Water was another thing I had never tried, but my skin has been really bad lately and after reading the reviews I knew I would like this product so I definitely wanted the biggest bottle (Tea Tree Water 250g £7.50, www.lush.co.uk). As I was heading to the till there was a slight wait so I ended up picking up a Bubble Bar (hold it or sprinkle it under a running tap and it acts like bubble bath) from near the cash desk, in Snow Mountain, I have tried to take a nice close up so that you can see the sparkle (Snow Mountain Bubble Bar £2.65, www.lush.co.uk).

The Candy Mountain was the first thing I used as I held it under the tap while I was running my bath, I actually really like this one because the shape is practical you don't have to crumble it off, you can just hold it under the tap without getting burnt and the bubbles it created were HUGE I was really happy and I only used the tip of the mountain.

I used all three of these things last night and can't wait to use them again, the Snow Fairy smells so good and the scent stays on your body even when you've dried off which I love, I also love that you don't need to use a lot to get a lather, at least it will last a while because it is quite expensive for a shower gel.

As for the Tea Tree Water, I think I am in love, I have used it like 3 times already and I only bought it yesterday afternoon, I used it after my bath, after cleansing my face, I used it again before bed and left it on to soak in and I have used it this morning as soon as I woke up. The lady in the shop said you cannot over load because its such a soft formula, and I am so happy because I know I'm going to be using it A LOT, it's so refreshing, make your skin feel young and dewy, it has a slight tea tree smells but only faint so it's not overpowering, I just love it and hope it starts to help with my skin blemishes.

I have also been reading about this product lately so I thought I'd add it in, it's supposed to be the greatest lip balm formula ever created, my mum had asked for the new Banana version for Christmas so whilst shopping for that I persuaded myself to get one too, I got the original Lanolips 101 Ointment Multi Purpose Balm (£10.99, www.boots.com) it's kind of like the Elizabeth Arden 8hour Cream in that its supposed to be good for everything, I mainly bought it for my lips though and to be honest it's a very small tube and probably wouldn't last 5 minutes if it were being used for everything, saying that however it is a very thick gel type consistency and you really do not use a lot, it is clear and completely scent free, I had read one lady saying that its best a night to leave it on and feel how soft your lips are in the morning, so I did that last night and I can truthfully say my lips really do feel smooth and moisturised. So far so good, maybe I will do a review in a few weeks to share exactly how good/bad it is.

Mini Christmas haul

Barry m

Today I managed to sneak in a little bit of Christmas shopping on my lunch hour so I thought I would do a mini haul to show what I got. I picked up a few things for me too though, as always.

I work in Windsor, England, and so that's where I found these goodies, it was so foggy today all day it made everything look like a scene from 'The Woman in Black', pretty cool, nice winters, Christmassy mood in town so it was nice to shop there.

I'll go through the bits for me first... So I was in need of cotton buds so I nipped into boots I noticed that the baby versions of buds, cotton pads and cotton balls are all cheaper than the normal versions at the front of the store, for the exact same quantity so I obviously chose those :) and ended up gettin both for like £1.60 or something. Very happy. (Www.boots.com)

I was also hunting down the Olbas Oil for kids because I do have the normal adult version but I'm not sure where it is and thought I'd try the kids one to see if it was less strong (it isn't by the way well ,it doesn't seem it anyway) but I'm happy I have my Olbas back. (£3.99 www.boots.com)

I picked up a few cosmetic bits too, I finally got the Collection 2000 Lasting Finish Concealer that I have heard so much about, I haven't tried it properly yet but I think I'm going to do a concealer review soon anyway so I will put the results up there (£4.99 www.boots.com), I got yet another Barry M nail polish, one from the Gelly range this time in a bubblegum pink called 'Dragonfruit' also from boots, and lastly I treated my lips to a Bodyshop fix and purchased one of their lip butters in 'Pink Grapefruit' it's yummy (rrp £4 I got mine on 50% with a voucher code. Www.bodyshop.co.uk)

Oh and, a bit random I know but I am so into home wear and anything cute and random and pink... I found this bowl in Waitrose the other day for just £3 how good is that? So I had to have it since I have vowed to start taking cereal to work, I thought It can be my motivation.

Presents wise I managed to get some sweeties for my Christmas goody bags, I found them in The Works most randomly, so I was really pleased with that I got the "Butterfinger" for my dad and the "lucky charms" bar for my brother. While I was in there I got some other really cute presents, I was especially taken by the little floral storage pots (£1.99) so I had to get one for me AND my mum, same with the re-useable pink floral shopper bag (£1.99), one for me, one for mum, and I got my dad this really cool DIY book with lots of good ideas in... A totally typical dad present but I know he'll really enjoy it so it made me happy to buy it. Last but not least I got a Crossword notebook for my gran because she just loves doing crosswords.
