Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Duo in Moodlight (£56/ 12g)

Since getting this highlight palette a few months ago it has been a complete staple in my routine, I literally use it every day without fail, so I thought it was about time I put up a little review.

First, packaging, so it comes in a velvet protective sleeve and the compact itself is a sturdy plastic in dark chocolate brown and gold with a huge mirror and magnetic closure. I find it very handy as I can prop it up and use the mirror for my entire make up (when travelling and searching for a well lit area is difficult).

Second, price, you get 12g of product for £56 which if split in two, for the two different highlighters works out at £28 each and when comparing to the likes of the Hourglass Strobing Powder (4.6g for £34) this is actually a really acceptable price point for high end (in my opinion), of course it's the forking out for the palette all in one go that is the main problem but it's definitely worth the money in the long run.

As for the actual highlighters... beautiful! On first look I thought the white shade would be the one with all the punch, however it's actually the opposite, the white shade is a very soft, natural Opal highlight, while the tan shade is the über glowy one, this is the shade I use most and looks amazing over bronzer or a bit of a tan. These are so pigmented you just need one swipe with a brush, no glitter or sparkle, just amazing highlight, no heavy or cakey feeling either. I'm so impressed with this palette, I think it will last a lifetime but if not I would definitely repurchase it.

I have a few things on my current wish list, not a lot so I thought I would make a little post about them, I always have a huge list of products I want to try but this is a collection of those at the top of the list, either re-purchases or the products that have been on the list for the longest time.

Caudalie Grape Water £6

Aesop Amazing Face Cleanser £33

Pixi Glow Peel Pads £24

Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Sugar £19

Pixi Make Up Melting Cloths £10

Burberry Earthy Blush £29

L'occitane Amande Shower Oil £18

What's on your current wish list?

Swatches: top row: Stone Lipstick, Give In Lipstick, Promise me Velvetease Lip Pencil/

bottom row: Stripdown Lip Liner, Cultured Pro Lip Liner, Boldly Bare Lip Liner

Having a bit of a MAC moment lately and picked up quite a few bits so thought I would put together a little collective haul. Still loving the lip liners, I picked up 2 normal lip pencils in Stripdown & Boldly bare and one ProLongwear lip pencil in Cultured which is already a firm favourite of mine. I got an email from MAC about some limited shades for lipsticks and fell in love with a peachy coral Give In, I also ordered Stone lipstick after hearing so much hype, I know it's not very Summer-y but I want to use it for some ombré looks and also just to mix with some of my favourite nudes. They had 30% off certain products as they are being discontinued so I picked up one of the Velvetease Lip Pencils in the shade Promise Me too. Lastly I ordered the Turquatic perfume on a bit of a whim to be honest, I'm so glad I did though, I have wanted to repurchase this 100 times, it reminds me of uni and summertime, it's so fresh and feminine, perfect.

As I haven't managed to get a monthly favourites up for quite some time I thought I would just do a quick update on some of my current favourites. There are a few new bits, but most of them I have been using for months now.

Marc Jacobs Invisible Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Primer

I am actually on my second bottle of this now, so happy it is available in the UK and easy to stock up on, I use a pump and a half each day before my foundation and it immediately hydrates and helps my skin look plump and awake without feeling greasy, absolutely love it, it's definitely HG for me now.

YSL Touché Eclat Neutraliser

I did at first want the green shade as I don't have any colour correctors for my redness but as I usually wear full coverage foundation or a lot of concealer I figured one more shot at hiding the dark circles would be best, this is surprisingly good, cancels out the blue and brightens a lot even before I add concealer.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze

After trying this in my Ambient Edit palette I had to buy the full size, it gives such a healthy glow, a really natural bronze that you can build up or pare back, I use it every day.

Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo in Moodlight

I was pretty dubious about this, mainly because of the price but I bit the bullet and I'm in love, I really thought the white shade was going to be the one with all the punch but nope, it's very soft and you really have to build it up, the bronze shade however is unbelievable, one swipe and you are done. Love.

Tom Ford Brow Sculptor in Taupe

I only picked this up as it was £10 off the usual price which brought it down to the same as my favourite Hourglass arch so I thought I'd give it a try, I have to say I'm getting on really well with it, the shade is perfect and the consistency is just right, not so hard that you get cramp applying it and not so soft that it just melts off, not sure if I prefer it yet though but it's my current go to.

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows in Clear

This is one of the newest to the bunch but I have used it religiously since it arrived, my faithful Loreal Brow Stylist was getting a bit ropey and I couldn't find it in any boots at all, I had seen great reviews on this so I thought why not? It's pretty pricey for a brow gel, but they do last a long time I suppose. The brush is the smallest I have ever seen and it picks up the perfect amount of product, holds brows in place with no crusty feeling and dries completely clear.

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in Kim KW

Another newbie, this is a very light pink nude, similar to Mac Fleshpot but a lot creamier in consistency, since I have been fake tanning a lot lately I have been using this almost every day.

A couple of months back I was on the hunt for some more travel friendly bits and bobs, so I headed to Oxford Circus, as you do. Of course the first stop was & Other Stories where I got my hands on this gorgeous pink suede clutch/ cosmetics bag for a bargain price as I got an even bigger discount after returning and empty beauty bottle, I also picked up a box of their in ideal polish remover wipes and a new bottle of brush cleanser. Next was Liberty as I needed to get to an Aesop for a fresh tube of my Control spot treatment, and lastly Muji, surprisingly I didn't pick up any stationary and headed straight to the practical section, I got some of the pre soaked cotton buds and the travel packs which come individually wrapped in packs of 10, and of course a beauty item, I decided to give the All In One Essence for dry skin a go as I really love the lighter version and my skin has been on the drier side lately. Did you pick up anything cool lately?
