Review. L'Oreal Paris Collection Privée
23:46I have been wanting to review this lipstick from the newest L'oreal range which is completely focused around nudes shades and is designed to provide a perfect nude for all skin tones.
So the shades are designed around 6 famous L'oreal spokespersons' (there are 6 shades ranging from the lightest skin tone to the darkest) the collection is available at Boots and the lipsticks are priced at £8.19. Apparently there are the nail polishes to match which I would love but haven't spotted them yet.
The packaging is really classic, square black tubes in a velvety matte finish (like Nars packaging) and each tube has the signature of the corresponding spokesperson on the front in gold.
The consistency is really creamy and they offer pretty sheer coverage as they aren't very highly pigmented but they build up to a nice opaque finish. They are shiny, there is no glitter in sight, and not actually shimmery as some have described (I have read a lot of reviews before writing my own), the finish is much like MAC lustre finish, it's shiny, not as matte as satin but not high gloss either, a nice happy medium which makes it feel really smooth and moisturising on the lips. They are not very long lasting which is quite sad because my nude (Cheryl) is a perfect match, it's a perfect "my lips but better" shade for me and I love it but having to reapply every couple of hours is a pain, I definitely think they should accompany the collection with matching lip liners.
The scent is proving to be too much for quite a lot of people, I did find it funny when I first opened the lid as I sort of automatically expect a vanilla scent from a nude lipstick, but I actually really like it, I cannot describe it at all, but I can tell you another product that it smells exactly like, the Chanel Nail Polish Remover, which I love, but if you have a sensitive nose I really wouldn't let it put you off before seeing them in person because I think they are great and well worth the money. I want another one.

I've never found a good nude until I discovered this range and the Julianne Moore shade is perfect for me - it's a great range and I'm sure there's something for everyone :o) Xx

Yeah I liked that one too, I might pick it up as a more pinky everyday shade :)
